Share & Win

When I was young I remember asking my mother how it’s possible to win a friend when you share a seat, the concept of winning being that which I’ve associated with the arcade and the carnival: you win a prize, you take it home with you. And so that day of juvenile inquiry, I learned that you can’t simply claim a human and make him your own despite such gracious gesture.

If only we were delicate as the faint light peeling from the edges of clouds we could’ve heard the whispers of youth in the spaces of falling beads and finally walked in the rain even if everyone else was too cautious to get wet.
